WFAA-TV (Channel 8) is north Texas’ leading source for news and information on television. News 8 has set national standards for credibility and reliable news coverage, and remains one of America’s most decorated local stations. WFAA has been honored with four prestigious George Foster Peabody Awards as well as seven duPont-Columbia University Silver Batons--broadcasting’s equivalent of print journalism’s famed Pulitzer Prize. From news investigations that garner not only accolades, but have also been known to change laws and lives, to stories that help communities connect to each other and stay on top of health, environmental and other important issues, WFAA is the news station north Texas has relied on for more than 50 years.

Widely known as the “Spirit of Texas,” the station is a solid community touchstone, and the area’s most sophisticated weather technology is used extensively during nightly presentation. Chief weathercaster Troy Dungan and his team of meteorologists Pete Delkus, Greg Fields and Steve McCauley keep viewers up to date on severe weather issues, and routinely present special Weather Extras—interesting information to help viewers better understand the atmosphere around them.

WFAA.com provides viewers with an extended source of News 8 on the web. Connecting communities and providing cutting edge news coverage to north Texans is WFAA’s mission.
